In detail, about Accounting area, IFM is acquiring strong competences on the standardization issues of public entities balances, according to D.L. 118/2011 act. In this field IFM is supporting many entities in the complex swapping step from old regulatory system to the new standardized balance rules. IFM is providing consultancy services both in the new balance structure definition and in the test phase, and, finally, in the new standard accounting system startup.

Another area IFM is spending special attention on is related to the new rules about digital administration, with a strong focus on the electronic invoicing and the standard storage of digital documents.

 

 

Technical Skills


Along the almost thirty-year IFM’s history, the technology has changed very frequently, due to the quick obsolescence of ICT environment.

IFM was always equipped with a wide range of knowledge, necessary to meet the needs of a very diversified customers set.

In fact, is to be noticed that the skill profiles range from big entities, like regional administration or public healthcare companies, to very small communes.

So, just to talk about operating systems, the technical IFM’s personnel, during the time, had competences on mainframes environment, like MVS and VSE, on middle range systems, like AS 400 and on personal computers, like Windows (with all its various versions), Linux and OS/2. Similarly, IFM has adopted several programming languages, like COBOL, PL/1, RPG, CSP, VisualAge Generator, PL/SQL, C and C++, Visual Basic, Lotus Domino, Omnis Studio, PHP and Java with its many development platforms.

Likewise, speaking about data management, IFM crossed file systems period, marked by sequential and indexed files, while, as of data base management systems, acquired time after time deep expertise about DL/1, Oracle, DB2, MySQL, SQL Server, PostGreSQL, MS Access, Lotus Notes and many more.

Today IFM pursuits a strategy which aims to a full standardization of development environments, in order to both reduce skills acquisition and maintenance costs, and to build a development team with interchangeable resources and widespread internal competences.

The IFM’s policy about software development lays around Java’s use as basic programming language and java-based tools and frameworks. Along this widespread and deep Java’s knowledge by almost all company’s technical resources, can be higtools, hlighted the same expertise on the Java’s complementary languages, like Javascript, Css and Html, to manage particular topics of web applications.

As of development tools, IFM adopts Eclipse as reference environment, but, in order to satisfy specific requirements, has also valuable skills on Microsoft Visual Studio and Oracle SQL Developer.

About large use frameworks, along with solid competences on programming by servlet and JSP, is to be noticed the strong skills about programming based on JSF standard (Java Server Faces), using frameworks like Icefaces and Primefaces.

The most recent projects developed by IFM use JSF directives and Spring and Hibernate frameworks. Spring provides the developer with a large and well documented set of libraries fitting most general needs, while Hibernate supplies and interface towards most popular DBMS for data persistence.

To realize web portals, IFM uses Liferay Portal, a product on which the internal skills are very strong, thanks to an intensive training activity. In this respect, in order to develop applications within the portals, IFM leverages programming features made available by Liferay, so creating an effective synergy between application functionalities implemented by portlet custom and portal environment native functionalities. To get this result it was necessary to build specific abilities on the platform Liferay Portal Server programming.

Are quickly growing the skills on software development for mobile devices. In this area IFM claims good skills on AppCelerator Titanium development framework, which enables development of apps, that, coded in Javascript, natively run on Android and IOS.

The greatest competences on run-time environments are addressed to Apache Tomcat and Websphere Application Server. Other covered platforms are JBossAS and Domino.

For the client-server applications, included in the suite that IFM proposes to the communes and other local entities, IFM uses the Omnis Studio platform, which allows the development of object oriented applications in Windows environment.

In full compliance with its vision, which tries to advance the technological renewal cycles, IFM is investing in training and testing new ICT technologies. Among these, is to be mentioned IOT (Internet of Things) sector, which is getting a quickly growing interest within scientific and industrial community: about this scope, IFM is carrying out significant experimentation’s actions using the Cloudplugs platform, one of the most worldwide accounted.

Focusing on design competences, IFM has considerable expertise on analysis and design tools, like Rational Requisite Pro, Rational Rose Data Modeler, StarUML, BPMN, IBM Lotus Workflow Architect. Solid skills are to be reported about Business Intelligence, object of several projects implemented for various P.A. bodies. The platforms Pentaho, SpagoBI, Oracle Discoverer and SQL Server are integral part of IFM’s know how.

Finally, are worth mentioning the experiences performed with Spagic platform, aimed to SOA/BPM solutions development.

IFM has always taken great care of training on the system’s aspects involved in the supply of various provided services. System’s skills, at different level, are required both in software development services and in information systems supply. However, these competences were mostly developed and appreciated during the provision of all system’s services needed for the management of data processing centers, with different sizes and complexity levels. In detail, is worth mentioning the multi-year experience at Regione Calabria’s and Catanzaro’s Commune’s DP centers. Today IFM goes on feeding technical personnel competences on most popular operating environments, with particular focus on the middleware required for installation and use of application software.
